OACAC Emerging Leaders Retreat is a unique experience to explore many profession-related topics. This participatory-style retreat is an overnight experience for individuals who have been nominated by an OACAC member. ‘Emerging Leader’ participants who are in their first five years of the profession (college admissions, secondary school/college counseling, community-based organizations, education consulting, etc.) and who are OACAC members are candidates for this immersive experience with OACAC mentor leaders. The goal of the retreat is to provide participants with networking opportunities and skill-building sessions to prepare them to become future leaders within OACAC and our profession. The participant retreat fee is $125.00 plus lodging $161-$170

Day 1 – Thursday, November 7
1:30pm-3pm: Optional Pre-Retreat Teambuilding Hike – location TBD
3pm-4:30pm: Arrival and Check-in at Hocking Hills State Park Lodge
4:30pm: Welcome and Introductions
5pm: Session #1: Open Forum with OACAC Leadership
6pm: Dinner and Networking
8pm: Bonfire/Social
Day 2 – Friday, November 8
8am: Breakfast
8:45am: Session #2 – Finding Your Way
9:30am: Coffee Break and Time to Check-out of Lodge
9:45am: Session #3 – Balancing Being a Leader at Work and Home
10:15am: Session #4 – Understanding Budgets and Roles within a
Non-Profit Board of Directors
11:15am: Session #5 – Setting Actionable Goals and Achieving Results
11:45am: Closing / Reflections / Q&A
12pm: Boxed Lunch and Departure
1pm: *Optional* Post-Retreat Hike – Depart from Lodge
