Position Summary:

To assist prospective students and their parents interested in Ashland University through the enrollment process, and to coordinate the University’s multicultural recruitment efforts.

Position Responsibilities:

·  Serves as the primary contact for prospective traditional freshmen students and their influencers within specific geographic recruitment area

·  Conducts on-campus personal visits and group visit presentations to prospective students and their guests

·  Travels to visit high schools in assigned recruitment area and multicultural areas

·  Travels to attend college day/night programs within assigned recruitment area and multicultural areas

·  Assists with campus visit programs throughout the year

·  Collaborates with the admissions team, Director of Multicultural Student Services, faculty, staff, current students, alumni and community members in outreach to and programming for multicultural students

·  Provides innovative ways to recruit multicultural students to Ashland

·  Builds relations with multicultural organizations to have constituents in the field

·  Educates the admissions staff on multicultural aspects to help the team better understand the students’ needs as they are looking at colleges

·  Leads multicultural Bus Trips in collaboration with high schools that have a high multicultural population and academic standard

·  Serves as a liaison to an academic college and other campus offices for new student recruitment purposes

Position Requirements:

·  Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university

·  Previous work in admissions and/or experience in the recruitment of students from diverse backgrounds preferred, but not required

·  Effective interpersonal and public speaking communication skills

·  Willingness to work evenings, weekends or as needed

·  Ability to work unsupervised

·  Evidence of collaboration within a campus community

·  Able to communicate with a wide variety of individuals both on and off campus

·  Willingness to travel extensively during the fall and spring months

·  Must have a valid driver’s license

·  Willingness and ability to serve in this position for at least 18 months
