Capital University is seeking an Admission Counselor to build relationships and counsel prospective students on the college selection and financial aid process. This position is responsible for managing inquiries and applications from specified geographic areas. The Admission Counselor also collects and reviews information for student applications and determines eligibility for admission.

 

Responsibilities:

Communication/Communication Planning- Effectively communicates with prospective students and parents through emails, postcards, telephone calls, text messages, and/or social media to encourage students to visit, apply, and enroll at Capital University.

Territory Management- Plans and implements recruitment activities for assigned territory, including travel to high schools, college fairs, and other venues both within Ohio and nationally to promote the university to prospective students and parents.

Presentations- Develops speeches and presentations that highlight the value of a Capital education

Data/Market Analysis- Analyzes reports to document, track, and assess effectiveness of recruitment activities; collects and reviews applicant information and assess academic potential.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required; experience in higher education or enrollment preferred.
Motor vehicle license required.
Prior experience in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn Colleague and other programs as needed.
Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule; evenings and weekends.
