Associate Director of Admission, Lower and Middle School

Overview:

The Associate Director of Admission, Lower and Middle School, is a key leader in helping prospective students and families discover The Summit and navigate the admission process. The Summit Country Day School is a Catholic independent school minutes from downtown Cincinnati. Affiliated with The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, we offer a coeducational experience for students from 18 months through grade 12. Our mission is to educate leaders of character across five pillars, spiritually, academically, physically, socially, and artistically.

Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Management, this position is responsible for Lower and Middle School admission and enrollment, supports financial assistance awarding and reporting, and coordinates parent volunteers and a parent education series. Tasks include prospect management, application review, strategic communication, event planning and execution, and financial planning and reporting.

This position works with the Admission Office team, as well as administrators, faculty, staff, and parent volunteers to deliver on The Summit’s enrollment goals. The Admission Office works closely with the Marketing and Communications Office on Summit messaging and materials and the Development Office on engagement with Summit parents and alumni.

This position is full time, Monday-Friday with some evenings/weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Lower and Middle School Admission Coordinator:

-Responsible for Lower and Middle School recruitment & enrollment including – prospect management, calls and emails, campus tours, shadows, and reviewing applications.
-Assist director with creation of annual recruitment plan and ensure implementation and achievement of the plan.
-Serve as liaison between Admission Office and Lower and Middle School faculty and staff.
-Manage reenrollment and retention with the Lower and Middle School, including initiatives at key decision points including K/1, 5/6 and 6/7 grade levels.
-Coordinate Parent Preview Day programming for grades 1-8.
-Coordinate Kindergarten, Fourth and Sixth Grade Looking Ahead programs.
-Coordinate Fourth Grade Middle School Move-Up Day.
-Work with Lower and Middle Schools to schedule tours and shadow visits.
-Assist director with Lower and Middle School messaging for marketing, publications, and web content.
-Test all candidates applying to grades 1-8.

Financial Assistance Support

-Assist director with financial assistance application and review process, including budgeting and reporting.
-Coordinate endowed and angel donor scholarships.
Parent Ambassadors

-Chair overall Summit Parent Ambassador program.
-Coordinate Parent Ambassador chairs for each of the divisions.
-Establish and implement a training program for Parent Ambassadors.

Parent Education Series

-Coordinate with the division directors to develop and execute all-school Parent Education Series.

Upper School Admission Support

-Assist in planning and implementation of Upper School recruitment events, including shadow visits, Parent Preview Days, Open House, and fall admission events.

General Office Responsibilities

-Assist with required data entry and office mailings.
-Assist with testing and all on-campus visitation programming.
-Assist with annual reenrollment process and retention.

Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree.
-Minimum five years of experience in admission or relevant recruiting or sales positions.
-Experience working within a non-profit educational institution, preferred.
-Experience working with financial assistance or relevant finances or budgets, preferred.
-Experience working with communications tools, including proficiency in -Microsoft Office Suite, CRM tools, project management tools, and digital marketing platforms.
-Proficiency in writing and editing for daily communications and marketing materials.
-Strong interpersonal, organizational, follow through, and analytical skills that demonstrate effective leadership, collaboration, project management, attention to detail, and creativity.
-Ability to handle sensitive or complex situations with professionalism, poise, maturity, and flexibility.
