Responsible for recruiting, qualifying and counseling both new and transfer students. Serves as a representative to the College’s various publics. Designs and implements strategies related to recruitment and campus visits. This is a full-time, 12 month position, reporting to the Assistant/Associate Director of Admission.
Manage a domestic recruitment territory, developing strategies for improving market share for first-year and/or transfer students, including travel within territory. Recruitment activities may include but are not limited to: high school visits, meetings with school counselors, college fairs, networking with alumnae, planning or participating in on/off campus events.
Determine student interest from point of inquiry through the deposit stage utilizing telephone, electronic, and written communication, as well as available technology.
Counsel prospective students and/or families in one-on-one meetings on campus.
Review applications and make recommendations on admission.
Advise students on the transfer of credits from other institutions by conducting credit evaluations.
Maintain knowledge of financial aid process and policies, Ursuline College academic programs and curriculum, transfer equivalencies, NCAA compliance topics, NACAC’s SPGP, student life, etc.
Maintain awareness of trends and industry practice through involvement in relevant admission organizations such as OACAC, NACAC, etc.
Provide oversight and continuous improvement of the campus visit experience, including hiring, training, scheduling and development of student tour guides, training staff on best practices for campus visits, and ensuring the Ursuline campus visit experience is innovative, customer-focused, engaging, and memorable.
Coordinate planning for and facilitate execution of select, annual, on-campus recruitment events, as well as coordinate campus visit experience for special groups.
Maintains the Admission Visit Center, ensuring the physical space used for campus visits is inviting, resourced appropriately, and authentic to Ursuline.
Bachelor’s degree. Master’s preferred. Previous experience in college admission/higher education or related setting. Must be highly motivated and energetic, detail oriented, and possess excellent interpersonal, written communication and presentation skills. Event planning experience. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends. Demonstrated experience working in an inclusive environment.
