Graduate Admission Counselor/Assistant Director

Summary
Ursuline College has an opportunity to join the Office of Graduate Admission. The Admission staff contributes greatly to maintaining and enhancing Ursuline’s reputation, including playing a vital role in continuing the efforts to present Ursuline College to prospective students. Position is responsible for recruiting students into Graduate programs. Reports to the Director of Graduate Admission.
Responsibilities include:
- Interfaces and coordinates with individual Program Directors to provide them with program-customized support for their recruitment efforts.
- Develops leads via email, phone contact and web research, converting leads to applicants and then to matriculated students
- Implements and represents the programs through various events such as information sessions, alumnae events and corporate sponsor events to achieve enrollment goals
- Meets with inquiries/prospective students, conducts unofficial transcript evaluations, and assists in the application process
- Attends graduate school and corporate education fairs and maintains a log of graduate school and corporate fairs and corporate contacts
- Prepares packets of informational material for potential applicants
- Maintains a record of inquiries/prospective students including the referral source, interviews, unofficial transcript evaluations, applications, deposits and enrollments
- Maintains student records in a database management system, including admissions records and registration
- Plans events logistics with Director of Admission and outside vendors
- Prepares and submits written reports as requested by the Director of Admission, including enrollment and student demographic data reports.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in supportive discipline with appropriate experience; master’s degree a plus. Prior admissions experience at a private college or small university having several graduate programs preferred. Must be detail-oriented and highly organized; excellent written and verbal communication skills; presentation skills; excellent grammar and proofreading skills. Ease and confidence in communicating with professionals at all levels. Ability to build and maintain effective working partnerships with students, alumni, staff and faculty. Must be able to work independently and with teams. Working knowledge of sales and marketing. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Slate a plus; experience using online communication services; web site administration skills and knowledge. Ability to work evenings and Saturdays as needed. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel. Demonstrated experience working in an inclusive community.
