Ursuline College seeks bright and energetic individual to join the Office of Undergraduate Admission. The Admission staff contributes greatly to maintaining and enhancing Ursuline’s reputation. Admission Counselors play a vital role in continuing the efforts to present Ursuline College to prospective students and develop programs to assist with their needs. This is a full-time position reporting to the Assistant Director of Admission.
Responsible for managing and traveling within a domestic recruitment territory and developing strategies for improving market share for first-year students, particularly students of color. Recruitment activities include high school visits, meetings with school counselors, college fairs, networking with alumnae, and planning or participating in on/off campus events. Determine student interest from point of inquiry through the deposit stage utilizing telephone, electronic, and written communication, as well as available technology. Serve as academic liaison to select majors. Counsel prospective students and/or families in one-on-one meetings on campus. Review applications and make recommendations on admission.
Bachelor’s degree; previous experience in college admission/higher education or related setting. Must be highly motivated and energetic, detail oriented, and possess excellent interpersonal communication, writing and presentation skills. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends. Additional desired experience include familiarity with the women’s focused, Catholic College’s mission and liberal arts tradition college environment.
